چکیده

C, H, and K-NMR measurements of (NH3)K3C60 unambiguously demonstrated that its magnetic properties are described as a S51/2 localized spin system over the entire temperature range ~300 K–4.2 K!. A possible antiferromagnetic structure that appeared below 45 K is compatible with the orientational order of KNH3 pairs on the octahedral ~O! site. The present NMR study strongly suggests that the Mott-Hubbard localization occurs due to the removal of the C60 t1u-orbital degeneracy.

Mott-Hubbard transition versus Anderson localization in correlated electron systems with disorder.

The phase diagram of correlated, disordered electron systems is calculated within dynamical mean-field theory using the geometrically averaged ("typical") local density of states. Correlated metal, Mott insulator, and Anderson insulator phases, as well as coexistence and crossover regimes, are identified. The Mott and Anderson insulators are found to be continuously connected.

First - and Second Order Phase Transitions in the Holstein - Hubbard Model

– We investigate metal-insulator transitions in the half-filled Holstein-Hubbard model as a function of the on-site electron-electron interaction U and the electron-phonon coupling g. We use several different numerical methods to calculate the phase diagram, the results of which are in excellent agreement. When the electron-electron interaction U is dominant the transition is to a Mott-insulato...

Extended Hubbard model: Charge ordering and Wigner-Mott transition

Strong correlations effects, which are often associated to the approach to a Mott insulating state, in some cases may be observed even far from half filling. This typically happens whenever the intersite Coulomb repulsion induces a tendency toward charge ordering, an effect that confines the electrons, and in turn favors local moment formation, i.e., Mott localization. A distinct intermediate r...

Mott – Hubbard Insulator in Infinite Dimensions ∗

We calculate the one-particle density of states for the Mott–Hubbard insulating phase of the Hubbard model on a Bethe lattice in the limit of infinite coordination number. We employ the Kato–Takahashi perturbation theory around the strong-coupling limit to derive the Green function. We show that the Green function for the lower Hubbard band can be expressed in terms of polynomials in the bare h...

Superfluid to Mott-insulator transition in Bose-Hubbard models.

We study the superfluid-insulator transition in Bose-Hubbard models in one-, two-, and three-dimensional cubic lattices by means of a recently proposed variational wave function. In one dimension, the variational results agree with the expected Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless scenario of the interaction-driven Mott transition. In two and three dimensions, we find evidence that, across the trans...
